Design Projects

King David Campus, Liverpool

Project overview

In 2007, I was appointed as design advisor to the governing body for King David Campus. The school was undergoing a major redevelopment through Building Schools for the Future to create a through school comprised of kindergarten, primary, secondary and community facilities.

My role was to advise on aspects relating to the school’s faith ethos, and other practical aspects of the religious and cultural nature of the school, to ensure that they would be appropriately expressed and delivered in the design. I carried out consultations with both students and staff members, adapting the Mosaic Approach to understand what was important to the school about their faith identity. I then worked with the design architects Penoyre and Prasad to incorporate the results into the school design. I also was involved post-planning to advise on more detailed aspect of the proposals.

The building is now on site and due to complete in September 2011.

"Jennifer's work with a number of different stakeholders was always well thought out and inclusive, and made a significant contribution to the success of the project."
