School design advice
School design is about more than providing space for your school. The design of the school is an important tool to promote students’ learning, recruit and support teachers and market your school to families and communities - the ingredients required to create an excellent school. Well-considered designs will help you save money in both the building costs and the running of your school. I can support your project with independent design advice, based on my own experience working on existing and new schools as well as my experience at CABE reviewing and assessing many school designs across the country.
Early design advice is excellent value. It will ensure that your vision for education is practical, affordable and appropriate; it will help to make sure that the process of creating your school is smooth and efficient.
Your brief is the DNA of your project. It's essential that your site is compatible with your brief, and that it is part of a strategy to deliver your long-term goals for learning. I can offer school design advice to support you in the setting up, building of or refurbishment of your school. I can work with you on an ongoing basis or periodically to advise on quality control.
During the later design and construction stages, I can help advise you or the design team on aspects of school design. I can advise on the pitfalls, and when aspects of the design proposals are not delivering the best value for your school.
